Gauge collects minimal data to provide you with the best experience:
Account Info: If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and optionally your email. We never see your Apple ID password.
Votes: Your vote scores on daily and community topics, stored on our servers linked to your account.
Streak Data: Your voting streak, stored both locally and on our servers.
Display Name & Avatar: Optional profile info you choose, synced to our servers if signed in.
Usage Analytics: Anonymous engagement data (topic views, votes, shares) stored locally on your device.
What We Don't Collect
We do not track your precise location
We do not sell or share any personal data with third parties
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
We do not read your contacts, photos, or other personal data
Data Storage
Your vote history, streaks, and profile are stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS in the US) and linked to your anonymous account ID. Local caches are stored on your device using UserDefaults and SwiftData. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is also stored in your private iCloud container.
Third-Party Services
Supabase: Backend database for topics, votes, leaderboard, and community features. Hosted on AWS.
Apple Sign In: Authentication — we receive only a unique ID and optional email.
Apple CloudKit: Optional iCloud sync of your data, stored in your private container.
Apple StoreKit: Subscription and tip jar payments, handled entirely by Apple.
Your Rights
You can delete your local data by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of your server-side data, email us at bartoszmilewski@gmail.com and we will remove your account and all associated data within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Gauge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us.
By downloading, installing, or using Gauge, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and stop using the service.
The Service
Gauge provides daily opinion topics for you to vote on using a 0-100 slider and see how your views compare to others. We also offer community-submitted topics, leaderboards, streaks, achievements, and social features.
Your Account
You may use Gauge without an account with limited features. Signing in with Apple creates an account linked to a unique identifier. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account. One account per person — creating multiple accounts to manipulate votes or leaderboards is prohibited.
User Conduct
When creating community topics or interacting with the app, you agree to:
Not post offensive, hateful, discriminatory, or illegal content
Not attempt to manipulate voting results through bots, scripts, or multiple accounts
Not reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
Not impersonate other users or public figures
Respect other users' opinions and privacy
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules.
Subscriptions & Purchases
Gauge Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription providing additional features. Subscriptions are billed through Apple and subject to Apple's terms. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at purchase confirmation. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Tip jar purchases are one-time consumable in-app purchases and are non-refundable.
Intellectual Property
The Gauge app, including its design, code, and curated content, is owned by us. Community-submitted topics remain the intellectual property of their creators, but by submitting you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute them within the app.

Gauge is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not responsible for the opinions expressed in topics or votes. Community-generated content does not reflect our views.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Gauge.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app. Continued use of Gauge after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Every day, a new opinion topic is posted. You rate it on a 0-100 slider (0 = Strongly Disagree, 100 = Strongly Agree), then see how your vote compares to everyone else's. It's that simple!
Do I need an account?
You can browse topics and vote without an account. Sign in with Apple to save your vote history, maintain streaks across devices, and appear on the leaderboard.

Gauge Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks premium features including:

How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → find Gauge → Cancel Subscription. Your Pro features remain active until the end of your billing period.
How are streaks calculated?
Vote at least once per day to keep your streak alive. Your streak resets at midnight in your local timezone. Gauge Pro subscribers can recover a lost streak once per month.
Can I create my own topics?
Yes! Gauge Pro subscribers can create community topics. Your topic starts in "Rising" status. If it gets enough votes, it's promoted to "Trending" and eventually "Featured."
Is my data private?
Yes. We collect minimal data and never sell it to third parties. Votes are linked to anonymous account IDs. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
Uninstalling the app removes all local data. To delete your server-side data, email us at the address below and we'll remove everything within 30 days.
